It was the best of time, it was the worst of time",大師們的談吐、大師們的想法,豈是能從書本上就能體會的,如果我可以能親眼目睹這個跨時代的開端,是我等研究科學晚輩的榮耀與夢想。
1927, a tumultuous year, yet people were still suffering from post-First World War sorrow and chaos, there seemed to be another mass murder could not wait to come. Cold and hunger, separation from life and death…
However, 1927 is not just a
year of disturbance, but also a year of creativity as well. In October,
there was a group of people, who were going to change the future of the whole
world, gathered in Brussels: Albert Einstein, Niels Bohr, Marie Curie... and et al. 17 Nobel
Prizes in physics might not be the best way to measure their contribution, but
undoubtedly, they indeed laid the
foundation of such incomprehensible modern
physics, and led the development of modern technology.
How could it be possible to
feel, to perceive and to understand the wisdom and thoughts of those masters by merely reading? If I would be able to witness the beginning of
the new era … That must be the dream and honour of every junior in the field of
science.
